HOW TO GET THERE
By plane
Guarulhos International Airport, also known as Cumbica, is located 40 km from the city centre. There are shuttle buses available from Guarulhos to Congonhas Airport, Praça da República (downtown), Paulista/Jardins region, Barra Funda bus station and Tieta bus station. These lines, excluding Congonhas, connect to the Metro.
There is also a regular urban bus every 20-30 minutes, connecting to Tatuapã Metro station.
TAM and Gol, the two main Brazilian airlines, offer free shuttle buses for their passengers with flights to/from Guarulhos International Airport and Congonhas Domestic Airport.
They are also many taxis outside the arrival terminal.
The Congonhas Airport is located 15km (9 miles) from the city centre and handles most of the domestic flights and the popular São Paulo - Rio (Santos Dumont) short flight.
There are taxis and many regular line buses to Paulista Avenue.
By bus
There are three main bus terminals in São Paulo, all of them served by the Metro (Subway) network: Terminal Rodoviário do Tiete; Terminal Rodoviário da Barra Funda and Terminal Rodovi�rio de Jabaquara.
TRAVELLING AROUND
The underground Metro is one of the best ways to get around the city. The Metro has connections with 6 rail and all the bus stations. The city has also a large fleet of taxis you can take, especially during the night time.

One of the regrettable sides of travel in Brazil is the common violent street crime. Take extra precautions and use common sense to keep yourself safe.
