Cozumel is a Caribbean island located in south eastern Mexico off the Yucatan Peninsula. The island has amazing landscape with luxuriant jungle vegetation, white-sand beaches, rocky coastlines, lagoons and caves. The waters around the island have an extraordinary group of coral reefs that are part of the Great Mayan Reef, one of the best sights in the world for scuba diving.

ORIENTATION
The main town, San Miguel, has a nice peaceful Caribbean atmosphere and a very important ferry and cruise ship dock. On the waterfront area you will find a lot of restaurants and souvenir shops.
BEST TIME TO GO
During July and August the temperatures are very hot and sometimes it rains quite heavily. September and October are less rainy and less packed. The ideal time to arrive, however, is perhaps from November to early December, when it is even drier and very calm.
HOW TO GET THERE
Cozumel has an international airport with direct flights from many cities in North America and from the rest of the country.
Alternatively, you can fly into Cancun which usually has more flights, then take a bus south to Playa del Carmen and from there take the ferry across to Cozumel.
TRAVELLING AROUND
The downtown area of Cozumel is very easy to visit and explore on foot. For longer journeys you can take a taxi or rent-a-car or even a scooter.
