Mallorca is largest of the Balearic Islands, located on the east of Spain. Its capital city is Palma de Mallorca. Minorca is the second largest island of the Balearics and its biggest city is Maó. HOW TO GET THERE
There are airports in both islands, in the cities of Palma de MAllorca and Maó. They have good connections to the principal European airports.
Formentera has connections by boat (from Ibiza), taking around 30 minutes. These are operated by Trasmediterránea (www.trasmediterranea.es), Baleária (www.balearia.com), Cape Balear (www.capebalear.es), and Iscomar (www.iscomar.com).
TRAVELLING AROUND
All of the islands, except Formentera, have reasonable public transportations service. If you are in Mallorca, you should experience a travel in the electric train that runs from Palma de Mallorca to Sóller through the Tramuntana Mountain.
From Palma de Mallorca you can also take the modern trains that go to Manacor (in the northeast) via Inca.
Probably the smartest way to explore these islands is renting a car and travel around discovering the varied landscapes.
