ORIENTATION
Albania is a country in Mediterranean Europe. It shares borders with Greece, Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro. Albania consists primarily of mountainous terrain or hills, with the highest mountain reaching 2753 m above sea level (Mount Korab). Most of the country has a continental climate, with cold winters and hot summers.
Besides the capital, Tirana, which has 520,000 inhabitants, the principal cities are Durrës, Elbasan, Shkodër, Gjirokastër, Vlorë and Korçë.
HOW TO GET THERE
There are bus connections to Greece, Macedonia and Serbia (Kosovo). These connections are made by agencies carriers and there is no central bus station in Tirana. There is no bus connection with Montenegro. To get in Albania by Montenegro, you can catch a taxi in Podgorica to the border and catch another taxi or mini-bus to Tirana.
The Rinas airport is 23 kms from Tirana. .
