Aqaba is the Jordan's single port city, located on the Gulf of Aqaba at the southernmost end of the kingdom.

This superb Red Sea resort has amazing diving sites - with its flora and fauna being among the most spectacular in the planet. It also has excellent hotels and plenty of facilities and water activities. Besides being a haven for tourism, its also a great gateway to the rest of the country, and very close to major attractions such as Wadi Rum and Petra.

REASONS TO GO

From Aqaba is really easy to get to Wadi Rum.

Relaxing vacations with great sea, sand, sun, water sports and some of the best snorkelling and diving in the world.

Luxury five-star hotels and nature campsites.

BEST TIME TO GO

The weather in Aqaba is pleasant and warm all around the year, but extreme hot in summer. All the other seasons are amazing to visit this Red Sea resort.

ORIENTATION

Aqaba is divided into three main areas:

The North Beach Area, located in the Aqaba city centre, where most of the hotels and shopping are to be found;

The Middle Beach Area, where the port of Aqaba is situated;

The South Beach Area, where the best and most famous diving sites are located.

Aqaba's glistening waterfront may evoke the 21st century, but its historic center is an unexpected dose of old Arabia. At its core is the suq, a warren of covered stalls and boutiques. After picking up local crafts, refuel at Al Firdous Cafe, a traditional outdoor coffee spot where kaffiyeh-covered men sip fragrant brew. Then pay a visit to the 14th century Mamluk fort, a crumbling stone castle set right next to the Aqaba Archaeological Museum.
